My Story
My Mom is a 25+ year breast cancer survivor. After her diagnosis, I began doing the Komen DC Race for Cure (now More Thank Pink Walk) and have participated every year (except for one) since. Many of you have supported me every year along the way and that support is greatly appreciated.
Despite the fact that great strides have been made, far too many people still lose battles with this disease or have to endure brutal treatments to beat it. I will always honor the memory of those who have lost their battles and celebrate the victories of those who have beaten this disease.
Although there have been tremendous gains in diagnosing and treating breast cancer, there is still a long way to go both in finding cures and in making sure that everyone has the needed access to the diagnostics, treatments and support they need.
Again this year, I'm shooting for a fundraising goal of $5000. I appreciate everyone who has provided support in the past and thank (in advance) anyone who supports my fundraising this year. YOU have and are making an impact.
