Help Me Fight Breast Cancer
One in 8 women will develop breast cancer over the course of their lifetime. I am that woman.
Fifteen years ago when my daughters were just 6 and 7, I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. I was very fortunate -- It was caught early; I had family and friends who supported me; I had health insurance; and I had access to great doctors. In addition, I directly benefitted from the work of Susan G. Komen -- excellent resources that help inform decisions and the creation of two clinical trials I participated in -- both trials led to medical treatments that are part of mainstream medical care today. I am very grateful for all of these things and recognize that many women do not have all of the resources I had. But thanks to Susan G. Komen, many people with breast cancer have access to cutting edge research, financial support for patients who need it, and services including emotional support via Komen's helpline and patient navigation to break down barriers to care. I am dedicated to helping to find a cure for breast cancer and to helping those who do not have all the benefits I had. Please help me fight breast cancer by donating to my fundraising efforts.
I will be walking in the Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk on September 8. Please help me reach my fundraising goal of $20,000 by then. Your support will help us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer.
