My Story
Please help Tammie’s Army meet our fundraising goal this year. Though Tammie won’t be walking with us physically this year, we have an army walking in her memory. You’re also welcome to join us in the walk. Just let me know if you’re interested ð’
For those that may not know, my husbands sister Tammie (Sikora) Sexton lost her battle with breast cancer in November 2023. She was diagnosed while pregnant with her first child, who will be walking with us as a healthy and happy toddler alongside his dad and the rest of our army. Tammie was only 36 years old. She fought so bravely for as long as she could. The devastation and grief her friends and family all face seems preventable - why can’t we find a cure? Why can’t we do more?
Though Tammie’s story is closest to home for us walking in her army, we know many women living with and fighting breast cancer currently. And some who have fought and conquered in the past. This walk is an opportunity to applaud their bravery, support their fight, show support, and do our part to fight this disease for all of them.
We love you forever Tammie ð«¶
Your support helps us get ONE step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those facing breast cancer today who need our support. Whether it’s emotional support via Komen’s helpline, financial support through Komen’s treatment assistance program, or help navigating their care journey, Komen will be there for them.
In moments like this, your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side.
Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today?
