My Story
Eleven years ago, on April 10th, I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. . .breast cancer. Some of people knew that, some didn't. I kept it pretty quiet after my diagnosis, not because I didn't want to share with people, because I couldn't. I couldn't hold it together. I cried A LOT at first, in private. I needed my life to seem somewhat normal so at work, I wanted to talk about work stuff and so on. . .not this because I knew I would cry and I didn't want to be constantly crying. It has gotten easier over the years to talk about, and I have been able to share my experiences with other women who have had a scare or actually been diagnosed as well. It has been a journey. There have been scares, but no reoccurances. Eleven years with no reoccurrences is a great milestone.
