I am Angel. I am a 31-year-old Black woman from Washington, DC. I was diagnosed with stage 1, Invasive Ductal Carcinoma breast cancer in October 2021 at the age of 30. I had a lumpectomy (partial mastectomy) and lymphadenectomy (removal of lymph nodes) on January 12, 2022. Briefly, started the IVF process in February 2022, but backed out shortly after.
My 4 rounds of chemotherapy (Docetaxel & Cyclophosphamide) journey began on March 9, 2022 an ended on May 10, 2022.
20 Rounds of radiation ended July 15, 2022.
I am currently taking Anastrozole daily, Zoladex injections monthly, and Zometa every six months for the next 5 years.
Since the diagnosis, I have come to discover that I can’t handle this moment alone. Healing is not a linear journey. I suspect that this process will be long, and I ask that you join me. I am ready to accept your support in every shape and form.
This journey continues to teach me that I AM BLESSED.
Through my healing journey, I hope to find my voice. My voice to advocate and encourage. My voice to spread my patience, peace, and perseverance.
Ready to fight
Ready to heal ❤
Ready to share my healing journey ✨
With Peace and Perseverance,
Angel Joy Thompson
This year, I joined the ONE Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk. I am dedicated to Komen's ONE mission of ending breast cancer forever, and I need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
In moments like this, your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side.
Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today?
