It seems surreal that at this time last year I had just been diagnosed with breast cancer and awaiting my treatment plan. What a whirlwind... cancer and covid in 2020! I had surgery on October 29th and completed my last radiation treatment on January 8, 2021. I am a "survivor"!
I am very blessed to have the love and support of family and friends, as well as the care I received from MD Anderson Cancer Center. That is one of the many reasons the Komen Race for the Cure has become important to me. Not only do they support breast cancer research, they provide various types of assistance to those on their journey who aren't as fortunate to have the strong support system I do.
As we prepare to "Race for the Cure" this Saturday, I would ask that you:
Team Shadey D
This year, I registered for the Komen Race for the Cure because I wanted to take action and be More Than Pink. I want to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer and need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and help for the women and men facing breast cancer today who need our support now, as much as ever. Whether it’s emotional support via Komen’s helpline, financial support through Komen’s treatment assistance program, or help navigating their care journey, Komen will be there for them.
In moments like this, your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side.
Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today?
