Do I get a t-shirt?
All registered participants will receive an event T-shirt.
All participants that register as a patient, survivor or those living with Metastatic Breast Cancer will receive a special t-shirt.
How will I get my t-shirt?
Anyone who has paid to have their packets mailed by 4/29/22 will receive their race packet prior to race day. Anyone who registers and pays for the mailing fee after 4/29/22 will still receive a race packet but it is not guaranteed before race day. Anyone who has registered as a virtual participant and did not pay the mailing fee will still need to pick up their race packet during packet pick up. For packet pick up information, click HERE.
Limited Edition 30th Anniversary Shirt
Anyone who qualifies for this limited edition anniversary shirt will be able to pick up their shirt on race morning at the block party. Please grab yours at the Bend Active tent in the block party. If you are a virtual participant and you have earned this shirt, we will mail your shirt after race day.
Promotion open to 2022 Columbus Race for the Cure registrants who raise at least $100 USD through their personal Komen fundraising site between October 15, 2021 - May 14, 2022. Size selected at registration will be noted as preferred size. T-shirts will be available for pick-up at the Race site on the day of the Race, May 14th. Virtual registrant’s T-shirts will be shipped to registrant's address provided at registration no later than July 15. While supplies last. Promotion may end at any time. Size selected at registration will be noted as preferred size, but limited sizes are available. Size selection determined by Komen. Void where prohibited.
How much is the registration fee?
The early bird registration fee is $30 for adults, youth, and virtual participants. You can take advantage of this early bird price through December 31, 2021. Once January 1, 2022 hits, adult and virtual participants will be $40 and youth will remain $30.
Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
No, your registration fee is non-refundable, non-transferable, and not tax deductible.
What is included in the registration fee?
You will get a t-shirt. Your registration is not a part of your fundraising total for the Race for the Cure.

Is the registration fee changing?
Yes. Before midnight on December 31, 2021, participants can take advantage of our Early Bird rate and register for only $30. On January 1, 2022, registration will be $30 for youth and $40 for adult and virtual participants.
The registration fee helps offset the costs of conducting the event. You must register to receive an official event T-shirt as well as other new items to be used during the opening ceremony.
Do my team members have to register?
Their registration gives them access to the multiple fundraising channels and connects them to the community of participants and fundraisers all working toward the goal of ending breast cancer forever.
What health and safety protocols are being followed?
In the interest of keeping our participants safe, Susan G. Komen will follow local, state and federal guidelines or mandates related to COVID-19. Please review the event’s webpage and/or email communications to receive up-to-date information, including safety precautions or event cancellation. Participants may be required to use protective measures, such as mask wearing, social distancing and hand sanitizing/washing. The elderly, those with underlying medical conditions or weakened immune systems, including those who have breast cancer and are being treated with chemotherapy or immunotherapy or those with metastatic breast cancer, are especially vulnerable to COVID-19. If you have been exposed to COVID-19 or have experienced symptoms within 14 days of the event, you should not participate. Participants are solely responsible for their personal health and safety. Can donations made to a team be split or shared among team members?
We are unable to split or transfer donations between individual and team accounts.
Do you require fundraising?
We do encourage all participants to fundraise above the entry fee. Just imagine the impact if every participant raises only $100 (in addition to their registration fee), we will bring in an additional $300,000 to support treatment and educational patient support programs in our community!
Are patients, survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer expected to fundraise?
Just like our other participants, we encourage every participant to fundraise and have an opportunity to earn fundraising recognition items for their efforts! We find that survivors, those living with metastatic breast cancer and others that have a deeply personal connection to the cause are the most powerful and passionate fundraisers.
Isn’t my registration fee a donation?
Registration fees provide you access to the event and help to offset the costs for things like security, permits, tents, and other operational items. This is why they are not tax-deductible donations. Your donations and fundraising help fund our work to save lives.
Does the money raised benefit people in our community?
Funds raised by the Komen Race for the Cure series supports Komen’s mission to save lives and end breast cancer through breakthrough research and ensuring all people receive the care they need. Through your support, our neighbors will benefit from research discoveries, public policy advocacy and direct patient support services.
How can I fundraise?
There are multiple channels you can use to fundraise for your Race for the Cure. The Fundraising Toolkit provides a step by step guide to fundraising. You can also visit Fundraising for the Race for all the additional tools and tips you'll need to start.
All registered participant have access to an online personal Fundraising Center webpage where you can update your personal photo and story, use pre-written email and social templates to message friends and family, and connect your Fundraising Center to Facebook so you can ask your social community to support your race.

What is a Top Fundraiser?
Top Fundraisers are all individuals who have raised $500 or more. Once you hit the $500 milestone, you are officially a part of our Pink Honor Roll.
Is there a deadline for fundraising?
All donations on your behalf that are received by June 14, 2022 will be credited to your fundraising total.
When and how will I receive my fundraising recognition gift?
Participants are encouraged to fundraise until June 14, 2022. Approximately 35 days after the Race for the Cure, participants that have raised $100 or more will receive an email with information about their earned gift level and instructions on how to redeem. After receiving the email, participants will select one gift in their qualifying level or one item in a lower level, as gifts are not cumulative. After choosing, the item will be shipped to the registered address in our system. Susan G. Komen reserves the right to substitute an item of equal value if recognition items are unavailable. How do I use the Mobile App to Fundraise?
The Mobile App allows you to fundraise on-the-go and track your progress. You can also track your steps and learn more about the impact you are having to end breast cancer. View the Mobile App guide, to learn more about the features of the app to help you make a greater impact.
How do I track my steps using the Mobile App?
Connect to Apple Health or Google Fit to track your steps so your everyday walk or run can be one to end breast cancer. Make sure to allow access to ALL data for proper tracking. Once connected, click the “Get Active” icon at the bottom to view your steps & activity challenges. Simply hit the Start button to begin recording your steps and select “Confirm” when prompted to save the information.
Check out all six available step challenge badges under the “My Challenges” tab, including the Finisher Badge for taking 6,000 steps to officially finish the Race for the Cure.
Is support available if I am having trouble with the Mobile App?
Yes. In the top right corner of the App Home Screen there is a gear icon. Click this and then “Need Help?” to open the support portal. Search the app FAQ for an answer or open a ticket with our app support team.
Do I need to mail in checks if I deposit them through the Mobile App?
No. You do not need to mail in checks if you have deposited them through the Mobile App.
