Kathy's Angels

Our Story

Join our family and friends as we participate in the Susan G. Komen Georgia MORE THAN PINK Walk in memory of Dr. Kathy Bell Castilla, who lost her battle with metastatic breast cancer on January 7, 2020. A beautiful person inside and out, Dr. Castilla left an indelible mark on all of us who knew and loved her. We miss hearing her call us by the unique, endearing nicknames she coined for us. As a talented and classically trained vocalist, pianist, and choral director, she touched so many lives through music. We can still hear her beautiful coloratura soprano voice in our ears. She loved to sing unto the Lord most of all.

We're united by hope as we walk together to end breast cancer. Black women in the U.S. are 40% more likely to die from breast cancer than Caucasian women. This is unacceptable. The money we raise will fund research to discover more effective treatments and support vital patient care services like breast cancer screenings, diagnostics, treatment assistance and so much more.

Walk with us on Saturday, October 9, at Lenox Square in Atlanta, GA, or participate in the digital experience and Walk Where You Are!
