Friends and Family - 

We have all been touched directly or indirectly by cancer.  While I have not directly lost anyone to breast cancer, I lost my Aunt Diana and my grandfather (whom I was named after) to cancer. And recently I lost a friend, Barbara, to cancer - she was too young and one of the kindest souls I've ever met. 

When coaching, I always tell my girls to give energy to the "controllables". We can't control the weather, the refs, the field conditions - we control what we think and what we do. This is something we can all do.  We can help raise money to help Susan G. Komen save lives and end breast cancer forever. 

1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be impacted by breast cancer in their lifetime, which is why I’m fundraising to help support Komen’s vision of a world without breast cancer.

As the world’s largest and most impactful breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen supports more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside the U.S. government, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease.
