Hi! I’m Makayla Isabelle Zawwin. This weekend, I’ll be playing in the Lax for the Cure lacrosse tournament to help raise money for Susan G. Komen and support breast cancer research.

This cause is really special to me because my grandma, Jeanette Zaw-Win, had breast cancer in her late 30s and fought through it like a warrior. She survived it and lived many amazing years after. Even though she’s now in heaven, I still carry her strength and love with me every day.

I’m playing this tournament in her honor and for all the women and families affected by breast cancer. I want to help make a difference, and every dollar donated brings us closer to a cure.
