What makes you feel connected to Susan G. Komen and our mission to end breast cancer?
I am a breast cancer survivor. I started screenings at the age of 30 because my mom, two aunts and grandmother had all been diagnosed. I was diagnosed 10 years later at the age of 40. My son was only 4 years old at the time. Diagnosis and treatment are hard on anybody but dealing with that while having a small child at home was a nightmare. I dream of a world where no person must hear those dreaded words "You have breast cancer."
Where might people get to see you with your wig on?
I have lots of places to wear my wig! I will wear my wig to work, which is remote, but I am on Teams meetings all day long with colleagues across the country. I will wear my wig to my son's school and cub scout events. I will wear my wig to the Brewers and Bucks games. I will wear my wig at all of my athletic training events and races. I plan on wearing it everywhere!
What will be your competitive edge against the other BigWigs?
I have a very personal connection to breast cancer and a large network of friends, families and colleagues that will promote my fundraising efforts. I work for a large corporation, Walgreens, that is very excited to support my BigWig campaign.
What is one fun fact about you?
