What makes you feel connected to Susan G. Komen and our mission to end breast cancer?
When the folks at Komen ask you to wear pink hair for an entire month for a good cause, you don't say no. A world without breast cancer is closer than ever, and if wearing a pink wig will keep the conversation going, I'm in. Money raised not only goes to finding a cure, it means no breast cancer patient is ever alone in their journey. Komen's Patient Care Center, available nationwide, provides financial assistance, help navigating insurance, and a vital support system. My late mother, as well as other dear relatives, have faced her own battles with breast cancer, and it was comforting to know Komen was there advocating for all patients and their families. Komen's first St. Louis race brought me to downtown St. Louis in June of 1999. I'm proud to continue to support the goal of working toward a future without breast cancer.
