What makes you feel connected to Susan G. Komen and our mission to end breast cancer?
I am an eleven year survivor and have been living with metastatic breast cancer for five years. The only way we are going to find better treatment and a cure for this disease is through research. Without the important research being done, the life-saving drug regimen that I'm on would not exist.
Where might people get to see you with your wig on?
I'll be out and about in Omaha! Join me on a walk and we can raise funds and awareness together.
What will be your competitive edge against the other BigWigs?
My competitive edge against my competitors is my amazing network of friends and colleagues who have been my cheerleaders for over a decade.
What is one fun fact about you?
I love flowers! Since being diagnosed with breast cancer and going through multiple surgeries for it, I had many generous friends, family and coworkers send or drop off flowers. Strangely, as one bouquet was on its last day, another one would appear. This went on for months and I loved how a single flower or an entire bouquet changed my mood. I now keep fresh flowers either in my house or at my job every day. It's a little thing that brings me a lot of joy!
