We all know people whose lives are touched by breast cancer. After a call back from a mammogram and a series of tests earlier this year, I (Ashley) found out that I have ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and need surgery. Because of early detection, I have an excellent prognosis and hope for the good news of being cancer free after a double mastectomy surgery this spring.
Your donation here is to the Susan G. Komen foundation in my honor. It does not go to our family but does go toward the goal of preventing and curing breast cancer.
As the world’s largest and most impactful breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen supports more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside the U.S. government, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease.

Thank you for supporting me during this challenging time. It is my hope that my daughters and other people will be spared the harder parts of this journey because of the research being done today with our donations.
