Memorial Fundraiser

Darlene Lewis

One of the many titles that our mother, Darlene Lewis, earned was that of a Survivor.  Due to her vigilant preventive check ups, she was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer in 2007.  After a series of surgeries and radiation treatments, she was declared CANCER FREE later that year.  She celebrated her 5 year survivorship in true Darlene style by enjoying good food, sharing education on prevention, and enjoying laughs with family and friends at a local eatery in Pennsylvania.

Our mother continued to use her voice as a health care advocate for women of color in her professional and social circles.  As she transitioned into a well earned retirement, she continued to champion for health policy changes, fairness in legislation for all and served as a political activist.

As the world’s largest and most impactful breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen supports more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside the U.S. government, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease.

You can donate online by clicking the Donate Now button.  All funds donated through the Darlene Lewis Memorial Page will be designated for the support of outreach, education, and programs for WOMEN OF COLOR in the fight against breast cancer.

Thank you for supporting us as we work together to end breast cancer forever.

Her Girls,

Malika and Kali
