This year I will be training and participating in the 2026 JAL Honolulu Marathon. This will be my second marathon! My first marathon was the JTBC Seoul Marathon and that was the event that changed my entire outlook on why I run and who I do it for. This year, I wanted to continue my progress and run for a special cause.
In 2025, while I was overseas my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Being so far away and in the service it's hard to fully be there in ways you feel you need to, to ensure your family is taken care of and reminded you are there to support. This year, she is a survivor and will always be the strongest woman I know. She is a retired U.S. Army veteran with 23+ years of service. All while being a single mother of 4 kids throughout her career.
She raised me to be the independent and hardworking woman that I am today. She has raised me to never give up and do everything in our name with strength, passion, and hard work. This is my way of saluting and thanking her for all she does for everyone around her. A reminder she will always have my support no matter where my military service takes me.
Running for Team Komen will be an honor and a way to raise awareness for the cause that changed our lives. A marathon is a long distance event that redefines the limits of one's mind, body, and soul. Join me on my journey as I train and complete another marathon for this very special cause.
I'm proud to support Susan G. Komen's mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever. In the U.S., 1 in 8 women will be impacted by breast cancer in their lifetime. That's why I'm fundraising-to make a real difference for those we love, those we know, and those we've yet to meet.
As the world's largest and most impactful breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen funds more breast cancer research than any nonprofit outside the U.S. government, while providing real-time support to people facing the disease today.
Go Pink for the Cure brings communities together-schools, sports teams, and local groups-to raise awareness, promote healthy living, and fund lifesaving work. Every registration, every ask, every donation, and every person you spread the word to, gets us one step closer to saving more lives from breast cancer -every action matters!
