1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, it could be your mom, sister, wife, girlfriend, friend, or coworker. I am 1 in 8. I was diagnosed in February 2022 with early stage breast cancer. It was detected during my yearly mammogram. I didn’t have a clue, I never felt a lump nor did my doctor or surgeon. I wasn’t worried going into my mammogram because I have had normally mammograms and no family history. Then I got the phone call that nobody wants. “ I am very sorry but you have breast cancer. It is an aggressive type of breast cancer but we caught it early and it is treatable.” With the support of family, dear friends, and a team of doctors and nurses I came through surgery and 15 months of treatment. It was the HARDEST time in my life. It is my mission now to help others and bring awareness to breast cancer and early detection. It saved my life! Please join me in walking for a cure and support those that are newly diagnosed, fighting the good fight, those of us that are lucky enough to be called survivors and honor those who are no longer with us.
