We want to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer in a different way, so we've joined together to start a team!
We want to help Susan G. Komen save lives and end breast cancer forever. 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be impacted by breast cancer in their lifetime, which is why we’ve created a team to fundraise to support Komen’s vision of a world without breast cancer.
Tara's journey began in October of 2016 after finding a lump on her right breast. Thru months of tests, scans, Chemotherapy and Radiation cycles, she was deemed "cancer-free" or in remission. With that, a resumption of her normal life and functioning while never denying the reality that cancer was now in pursuit of her life. That would be realized in October of 2021 after again, discovering a new lump on the same breast. This time the challenges were more immense and thus led to diagnosis of Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. That didn't matter to Tara she was ready for whatever because this time she had a formidable ally and that was her faith in Jehovah God. She was steadfast and fought valiantly throughout and never ceded. Tara fought and played by the rules over her 7 year journey. Unfortunately, Breast Cancer does not adhere to any rules or semblance of compassion. It's relentless, persistent, angry and a non-discriminating cheater. I know because I've seen what it can do. However, it can be defeated and we must do so. There have been many advances in the treatment and curing of many associated diseases of breast cancers over the years for which, Tara benefited and received a prolongation of time but there's much more to do to ensure that we can help or prevent other's from having to endure such needless pain and suffering. On October 20, 2023, Tara handed off the baton to me and thus, I've started this memorial to honor her and to begin my commitment to finally destroying this beast. Will you please join me in continuing their fight and ensuring that someone you care so much about will have a better opportunity to prevail in the face of a Breast Cancer diagnosis. You can make a difference.
