Szabo Family Fundraising Page: NYC Marathon
I’m running the New York City Marathon on November 1st for my mom Kathy. She was diagnosed with HER2-positive breast cancer in September 2025 — she has a less common subtype called invasive micropapillary carcinoma and is currently in treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa.
Watching her navigate chemotherapy, surgery, and now a clinical trial with a newer targeted drug has made this cause deeply personal.
As the world’s largest and most impactful breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen supports more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside the U.S. government, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease. Every dollar raised brings us closer to a world where no family has to go through what ours is going through right now.
