In November, I will be running the New York City Marathon for the first time in honor of my mom, Laura Prisinzano, who passed away in December 2024 after a long fought battle with breast cancer. Breast cancer has impacted my family in the most unimaginable way, but I continue to live my life in honor of my mom and the legacy she left behind.

For those of you who knew my mom, you know she was our biggest cheerleader, always cheering us on with a smile on her face. I am running this marathon to carry that same encouragement with me and to honor the strength she showed throughout her years-long journey.

I will be running the NYC Marathon with Team Susan G. Komen, an organization that has always held a special place in my family’s heart. Each year, we participated in the 5K together in Virginia Beach, something my mom looked forward to more than anything. She loved showing up, encouraging others, and reminding everyone to keep fighting. I am honored to run with Susan G. Komen and continue to help raise money and spread awareness in the fight against breast cancer.
