Welcome to My Personal Page
I'll be running the New York Marathon with Team Komen this November.
In 2022, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Over the next couple of years, my family witnessed what it means to watch someone you love live with cancer: the countless doctors' appointments, the weight of treatment, and the resolve it takes to keep showing up, day after day, as a mom, wife, daughter, sister, coworker, and friend. But through it all, we also witnessed my mom's unwavering strength, perseverance, and optimism.
Susan G. Komen is the world's leading breast cancer organization. They fund breakthrough research, advocate for policy change, and provide direct support to patients navigating diagnosis and treatment. Their commitment to early detection has been particularly powerful: the five-year survival rate for breast cancer caught at stage I or lower is between 98 and 100 percent, compared to much lower odds at later stages. Early detection made a real difference in my mom's outcome, and Komen’s work helps make outcomes like hers possible.
I'm running with Team Komen because this cause is deeply personal to me. Their work saves lives and changes stories, and running on their behalf feels like a way to honor those we've lost and to keep fighting for the people and families who are navigating breast cancer diagnoses, treatment, or recovery today.
