Kristen Dugan NYC Marathon with Team Komen
Two years ago, I heard the words Stage 2B Triple-Negative Breast Cancer—one of the most aggressive forms of the disease.
What followed was a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation… and a fight that changed me forever.
But it didn’t break me.
It gave me purpose.
Today, I’m not just a survivor—I’m an advocate and leader in the breast cancer community:
- 2025 Ford Warrior in Pink – West Palm Beach
- 2025 Advocacy Day – Washington, D.C.
- 2026 Race for the Cure – New York City
- 2026 Executive Leadership Committee – More Than Pink Walk (WPB)
- 2027 Event Chair – More Than Pink Walk (WPB)
And now, I’m taking that purpose 26.2 miles through New York City.
This race is bigger than miles—it’s personal.
As a survivor, I know what it feels like to be in the fight. Now I get to turn that fight into something that helps other women—through research, support, and access to care.
I’m not just showing up as a runner. I’m showing up as a survivor, an advocate, and someone running with purpose.
I’m running for the women still in treatment, the families navigating the unimaginable, and for my three daughters—so their future looks different.
1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer, which is why I’m proud to fundraise for Susan G. Komen—the world’s leading nonprofit supporting research and patients in real time.
Every mile matters. Every dollar makes a difference.
Every mile is for the women who can’t run right now… and for the ones who will because of what we’re doing.
I’m not just running a marathon… I’m running for a future where my daughters don’t have to.
