Katie was a true warrior. Over the course of 14 years, she faced three different forms of breast cancer with remarkable strength, courage, and grace. Her resilience and unwavering spirit inspired everyone who knew her. Throughout her journey, she received countless cards, letters, and prayers filled with hope, encouragement, and admiration. She met every challenge with determination, dignity, and an enduring love for her family and friends.
Although she ultimately succumbed to complications of the disease, Katie passed away peacefully in her beautiful home, surrounded by her loving family, exactly as she had hoped. Her legacy of courage, kindness, and perseverance will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in Katie's honor. Through supporting breast cancer research, patient advocacy, and care programs, donations will help continue the fight against a disease that Katie battled so bravely for many years.
