Dear Friends and Family,
This year marks a meaningful milestone for me—my 43rd Bloomsday.
My first Bloomsday was in 1982. I ran it for about five years before I started walking so I could enjoy it alongside friends. Even after moving away, I’ve always made the effort to come back.
But this year, I want my walk to mean even more.
Raising money for breast cancer research has been important to me for many years. In 2003, I participated in the Avon 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk, covering 60 miles from Enumclaw to the Seattle Science Center. It was an unforgettable experience that deepened my commitment to this cause.
Breast cancer continues to impact so many lives:
- 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime
- Incidence rates are rising, especially among women under 50
This cause is also deeply personal for me. I have a sister currently battling stage 4 breast cancer, a daughter who has undergone a double mastectomy, and several friends and family who have been diagnosed. These experiences have strengthened my resolve to help in any way I can.
This year, I am dedicating my 43rd 12-kilometer Bloomsday walk to raising funds for Susan G. Komen's breast cancer research. It's my goal to raise as much as I can to support my vision of a world without breast cancer. If you’re able, I would be incredibly grateful for your support. Any amount, big or small, is truly appreciated.

Thank you for your support, encouragement, and for helping make this year’s walk even more meaningful.
With gratitude,
Anne
