The Gig Harbor Police Department (GHPD) supports the health and safety of our community. To foster health in service to the greater community, and in alignment with its department mission to provide the Best Possible Service, the GHPD is running an awareness campaign for the month of October to reduce health risks and increase positive health outcomes in the Gig Harbor community.
This October, the City of Gig Harbor is proclaiming October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This presents an opportunity for the city to increase cancer awareness and promote routine health checks and healthy behavior.
This campaign aligns with the city 2026-2029 strategic plan’s foundational pillar:
- foster a healthy city organization;
and the strategic priority community connections:
- strengthening the connection between residents and their city government will increase trust, compassion, and stability while increasing engagement in the municipal process and sense of civic pride and duty in service to the greater community.
Please consider making a gift today by clicking the Donate Now button.
For every $100 we raise here, the Gig Harbor Police Department will outfit an officer with custom pink uniform patches in support of breast cancer awareness.
With a donation of $100 or more, you can help directly sponsor the uniform patches for a police officer. As a thank you, we will send you a pink GHPD patch after the end of October.
Donors who make a generous gift of $1,000 or more will be invited to an ice cream social with members of the police department in early November as a special thank you for their support.
