I am excited to be running the New York City Marathon as a part of Team Komen and humbly ask for your support!!
After having completed three half marathons, I wanted to challenge myself more. Running a marathon is a big deal for me, but I also wanted to use this opportunity to make an impact. So, I connected with Susan G. Komen, and am thrilled to be running this year's NYC Marathon in partnership with them. My first marathon will mean even more as I get to run for something way bigger than myself - I get to run for my mom, for my grandma, and for the 1 in 8 women who will receive a breast cancer diagnosis during their lifetime.
Like many of you reading this, breast cancer has had a direct impact of my family. My mom was first diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 8 years old, so I have been acutely aware of this awful disease for most of my life. She successfully beat breast cancer for a second time in 2022. My grandma is also a breast cancer survivor whose courage I am continually inspired by. Both my mom and my grandma were also born and raised in New York which makes this even more special for me.
I am extremely passionate about eradicating breast cancer and supporting the work Susan G. Komen does to save lives by investing in breakthrough research to find a cure. As the world’s largest and most impactful breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen supports more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside of the U.S. government, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease.
I hope to run with the strength and resilience my mom and grandma , as well as all those affected by breast cancer, show everyday! Any contribution you can make will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
