When I received an email from Susan G. Komen promoting their team with the NYC Marathon, I couldn’t believe it.  It felt like fate.

Those of you close to me know the impact breast cancer has had on my family.  My Mom is currently a warrior battling stage 4 breast cancer.  She has had a tough fight, but she is tougher. She teaches me every day what it means to be strong.  I couldn’t think of a better way to honor her than to run 26.2 miles through the city she grew up in on her birthday. I run for Mom! 

As the world’s largest and most impactful breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen supports more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside the U.S. government, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease.  I want to help Susan G. Komen save lives and end breast cancer forever. I’m fundraising to help support Komen’s vision of a world without breast cancer.
