Marta Ivanna Olesnyckyj

Born in Chicago on January 6, 1954, Marta Ivanna Olesnyckyj was a true warrior. Marta bravely battled breast cancer for 27 years. Marta was deeply love and respected in her community for her generous heart and unwavering dedication to helping others. She was especially active with the Susan G. Komen Foundation, channeling her own experience as a cancer patient into a lifelong commitment to advocacy and support.

Marta’s kindness touched countless lives. She was a beloved sister, aunt, friend, and colleague; always putting the needs of others before her own. A dedicated research scientist with Celgene Corporation, Marta's contributions extended far beyond her work, as she constantly found ways to lift those around her.

Marta had a passion for travel, finding joy and wonder in places like Paris, Hawaii, Italy, Greece, and Disney. She was truly one of a kind, known for her compassion and boundless spirit. As a cancer survivor, her story remains an inspiration, and her legacy will be cherished by all who knew her.
