What makes you feel connected to Susan G. Komen and our mission to end breast cancer?
I have a strong admiration for women and families whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer. This is a disease no one should have to endure or see a loved one suffer through. I’ve been with my amazing wife, Michelle, for 25 years and I am the proud father of Kaitlyn, my 13-year-old daughter. I will do everything in my power to make sure my wife and daughter can live in a world where they do not have to fear breast cancer. Susan G Komen is a great way to support this mission to create a world without breast cancer.
Where might people get to see you with your pink tie on?
You might find me in my pink tie around the Duke campus.
What will be your competitive edge against the other Pink Tie Guys?
Over the last 10 months that my family has lived in Durham, we have felt so welcomed by the Duke community. I know that my fellow Blue Devils are a tight knit, caring group of people who are determined to find a cure for breast cancer. We are blessed to have 2 of the best medical schools in the country 10 miles apart from each other. It is a no brainer to partner with UNC to find a cure for breast cancer. And when it comes to the historic Duke-UNC rivalry, what could be better than competing to raise money for such a great cause.
What is one fun fact about you?
I love watching Premier League soccer. Arsenal is my favorite team.
