The 3rd annual River Runs Pink will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018 on the Bluff at 8:00 a.m. which will include a 5K walk, a special survivor breakfast for all registered survivors, and kids for the cure activities.

As a Komen fundraiser, we know you give your time, passion, and dedication to giving back to your community. We want to show you how much we appreciate your efforts and accomplishments in going the extra mile to make the biggest impact possible in the fight against breast cancer.

The 2018 Natchez River Runs Pink is all about TEAMS! Our Race teams can change history—the history of breast cancer—by helping Komen Memphis-MidSouth Mississippi reach record-breaking levels of race participation and fundraising. A team is a group of 5 or more participants who join together for the Race season to have fun and raise funds to empower the breast cancer movement.
Teams awards help drive the friendly competition that makes each year better than the last! Numbers for awards are calculated for registrations and donations received by October 6, 2018. Team members may continue to register and raise funds until October 31, 2018. However, any registrations or funds collected after the cut-off date will not be considered for award calculation purposes.

If you are a sponsor and will receive complimentary t-shirts with your sponsorship or an individual that purchased a t-shirt for the additional fee of $10, packet pickup will be at the following location:

All packets not picked up on this date will be available on event day at the registration tent. Please arrive early to avoid long lines. Registration and packet pickup will open at 6:00 am on event day October 6.

Q. How much is the registration fee?
A. $10.00 Adult, students and youth (Does not include event t-shirt)

Q. Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
A. No, your registration fee helps defray the costs of producing event and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductible.
Q. What is included in the registration fee?
A. You will receive a custom race bib, and access to the Komen village where sponsors will give a way great promotional items, food and beverages!
Q. How will I receive my event packet

Q. How long is the Race?
A. The event is a 5K route, which is approximately 3.1 miles. You may choose to walk or run the route. If you are unable to walk or run, you can still register and join us on event day. We are always looking for people to cheer on our runners and walkers.
Q. How can I become a volunteer?
A. The success of the Komen Memphis Mid-South Mississippi events depends heavily on the support we receive from our volunteers in the months leading up to event and on event Day. There are many ways you can get involved, for more information, email Catherine Young at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q. Are pet and strollers allowed at the
A. Pets and strollers are permitted; we just ask that you position yourself at the rear of the other walkers/runners. All pets are required to be on leash and any waste properly picked up and disposed of.
Q. What if it rains?
A. Komen holds the right to cancel or change the date or location of the Race in its sole discretion, including in the circumstance of extreme weather. It is likely, however, that the event will happen rain or shine. Please dress accordingly. Refunds will not be given in the case the event has to be canceled.
Q. Does the Komen River Runs Pink require
A. You are not required to fundraise, but we do encourage all participants to fundraise above the entry fee. Just Imagine the IMPACT - If 500 Race participant raises just $100 in addition to their registration fee, we would bring in an additional $50,000 to support local screening, treatment and educational programs in our community!
Q. Does the money raised stay right here in
A. Yes! Up to seventy-five percent of the net income from the Race stays right here in our community to fund vital breast cancer health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs. The remaining twenty-five percent supports Komen’s national research and training grants program.
Q. Where do I send donations?
A. You can mail all donations to: P.O. Box 16451 Jackson, MS 39236. For donations on behalf of an individual participant or a team, please include that information with your check.
Q. Is there a deadline for fundraising?
A. All donations on your behalf that are received by October 6, 2018 will be credited to your fundraising total for prizes and incentives. You can continue to collect donations after this date to make a greater impact; however, it will not count in your total for prizes and incentives.
Q. When will I receive my fundraising
A. Your fundraising incentives are calculated based on the total fundraising dollars you have collected. Incentives are distributed on event day at the awards tent. You will be notified at least 24 hours prior to event day if you received a fundraising prize or incentive. Prizes not collected on race day will be available up to 30 days after the event and arrangements must be made to pick it up. Prizes are not cumulative.

Q. How do I form a team?

Q. What are the benefits of a team?
A. Forming or joining a team multiplies the fun you will have on Race day. You can create a team to celebrate a survivor or honor someone you have lost. You can also create a corporate team and get your entire company involved.
Q. Do teams have to fundraise?
A. Teams are not required to fundraising but we strongly encourage fundraising. Fundraising as a team can be fun.
Q. One of my team members registered as an
individual when they meant to join my team. How do they correct this?
A. Please contact the affiliate office at 866-475-6636 to get this corrected.
Q. Can donations made to a team be split or
shared among team members?
A. We are unable to split or transfer donations between individual and team accounts.
