Workplace Ideas

There are so many ways to go Passionately Pink®! To find some fun ideas, choose the option below that describes how you might want to GO PINK.

CDW is Making IT Pink!

CDW is Making IT Pink!

Since 2007, CDW employees across the country have made their Octobers pink with Passionately Pink. Each year, their Octobers get pinker and pinker, with this year’s campaign raising over $40,000 – more than twice what they raised just three years ago! Over the years, Team CDW has raised over $140,000, which has supported Komen’s national work as well as community programs across more than 30 local Komen Affiliates.  The power of team efforts really makes an impact. Thank you, CDW!

Have a pink casual Friday at your workplace

Pink offices are more fun

Change things up at your office and talk to your HR department about having a casual pink Friday (or any day). Encourage coworkers to wear pink in exchange for a donation, and don’t forget the pink cookies in the break room. These spirited pink workers from Champion Self Storage went all out in honor of their fellow breast cancer survivor coworkers!

Proud Pink Partner

With 10 locations in the US, Merkle set up a Passionately Pink Select team. Each office hosted their own fundraisers, including slinging smoothies in Maryland, bake sales in Boston, and dolling up in pink in Denver. Over the past four years, Merkle has raised nearly $14,000 supporting Komen Affiliates from coast to coast and in between!

Employee Pink Pancake Breakfast

Encourage your coworkers to come into the office early for a Passionately Pink Pancake breakfast! Set out a donation jar in the break room to collect donations, and to turn your pancakes pink just add a little food coloring or strawberries to your pancake mix to have delicious pink pancakes. What a yummy way to show your support!

Auction off a parking spot for your office fundraiser

Pink Parking Spot

Holding a fundraiser at your office? Talk to your HR rep about auctioning off a parking space for a week or a month as a fundraising incentive.

Dress up your door contest

Make breast cancer awareness a team effort with a workplace pink door decorating contest. Encourage coworkers to decorate a designated door by encouraging donations in exchange for pink items to place on the door.

Do you have what it takes to be the Prettiest Person in Pink?

The Shelby County Tennessee Dept. of Human Services, Rehabilitation Division made their event personal, by holding a “Prettiest Person in Pink” contest with their employees. By wearing pink wigs, pink hats, and pink umbrellas- this office really showed off its pink passion!

Held Hostage for the Cause?

Woodforest National Bank took a light-hearted approach to spreading breast cancer awareness, by combining humor and motivation. To help encourage customers to donate, employees were tied up in pink boas and streamers with a ransom note “I have to raise $100 for breast cancer to get released!”

Michigan Bottlers are Passionately Pink!

The passion of Pepsi came out in October when 20 of its Michigan bottling plants went Passionately Pink! Pepsi employees held many events ranging from costume contests to hockey tournaments to car washes to employee bar-b-que luncheons. Thanks to these hard workers, over $40,000 was raised for Passionately Pink!

As part of the Susan G. Komen Corporate Partner family, Belk stores are committed to making a bold impact in their communities by going Passionately Pink. For the past 2 years, Belk employees held internal competitions and shoppers could donate their extra change at checkout. Thank you to Belk and their passionate shoppers for raising over $200,000!

A Day of Pink Pampering

Joseph's Hair Salon held a Passionately Pink Day on October 21, 2009. Guests enjoyed pink lemonade and dessert, and got the chance to guess how many pink M&M's were in a large jar. Everyone received a special gift bag with breast self-exam shower cards, breast health information, mammography cards, a pink nail file, sample hair products and a coupon redeemable for a pink carnation at a local florist.

Pink Out Your Office

Challenge your co-workers to a Passionately Pink office decorating competition!  Make it a daylong event that includes pink treats, breast health education, even a pink costume contest.  Sally Beauty Holdings employees used their decorating skills to turn their Texas headquarters into a pink paradise last October, and helped raise more than $22,000!

New Balance Challenges for the Cure

GMR Marketing went Passionately Pink® to show their commitment to New Balance as well as Susan G. Komen®. They had over 30 challenges for employees to participate in. A "fund" time was had by all: Pink shirts were sold with great success, there were small donation boxes around the offices, company VPs raised the bar by holding raffles and generally got the whole group involved. They raised an impressive $6,100.

Doctored Up in Pink

The Lakewood Health System Surgical Services Department wore pink on their Passionately Pink day in honor of fellow employee and close friend, Pat Eckhoff, who had recently passed away after a long struggle with breast cancer. In addition, the Department proudly showed off their pink fashion sense (and passion sense!) to visiting Susan G. Komen®, Brainerd Lakes Affiliate representatives, who were clearly impressed with their dedication to the fight against breast cancer.

Republic of Tea TEAm

Republic of Tea employees went Passionately Pink® on their Pink Day, October 14, 2009. Everyone was encouraged to wear pink and drink pink tea. Employees could even bring their dogs to work that day and they were dressed in pink, too! More than $1,000 was raised on Pink Day to help fight breast cancer. The employees call themselves “The Republic of Tea TEAm!” Republic of Tea is one of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®’s corporate partners. Their Pink Day was held in conjunction with their Sip for the Cure® campaign, which benefits Komen for the Cure through the sale of several teas and tea-inspired items.

Blackrock Goes Pink to Fight Breast Cancer

Blackrock locations across the U.S. went Passionately Pink by pinking-out their offices. Employees were encouraged to wear pink and decorate with lots of pink. The company also created their own Passionately Pink t-shirts. At this office in Delaware, employees also enjoyed pink desserts. All offices combined raised over $12,000 for Susan G. Komen®.

Pink-oh! de Mayo

Carolina East Medical Center took advantage of the fun atmosphere of Cinco de Mayo and turned it into a Passionately Pink event! In honor of an employee who was undergoing treatment at the time, they served up fun pink treats, dressed up with hot pink boas, and raised over $1,100!
