Susan G. Komen Los Angeles County is committed to ensuring that all individuals have access to life saving breast health care.

We continue to face very challenging times.  As Los Angeles County residents and small business owners struggle with how to pay for quality and affordable healthcare, the Los Angeles County Affiliate has remained steadfast in its commitment to saving women’s lives

We all want the women in our community to be happy, healthy and have the best possible access to breast health care.  And, if breast cancer is detected, we want every woman to be navigated into treatment and get the support they need to survive.

At this time, mammograms are still the best diagnostic tool to screen for breast cancer.  Results from several recent studies show that women aged 50 and older who got regular breast exams had a 23% lower risk of dying from breast cancer than those who did not.

But we need to do more.

This year, 6,000 women in Los Angeles County will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 1,000 will die from the disease.

It is Komen’s mission to make appropriate mammography available for all Los Angeles County women – regardless of whether they are insured by your company, covered by a state program or completely uninsured and low income.

If 125 small businesses in Los Angeles County each pledged $500, then five hundred low income women would receive free life-saving screening and diagnostic services.

Small businesses drive our economy, thanks to leaders like you. And healthy employees are a key factor in your success. Imagine what we could do if we combined forces to provide access to quality breast health services for those in need.

We invite you to make an investment in the important work of Susan G. Komen Los Angeles County by making a pledge of $500 – which could mean saving the lives of four women* – and becoming part of our Campaign 125 family.

*The average number of employees in a U.S. small business is four (4.) $125 dollars is the average cost of a mammogram. 4 x $125 = $500.
